Abstract
⺠We present a generic molecular detection system for all Phytophthora species. ⺠The validated assay detects and identifies Phytophthora in water and soil samples. ⺠A water filtration system is developed that allows rapid in-field sampling. ⺠The method will prove valuable for ecological monitoring, commercial and biosecurity uses.
