Abstract
Thermodynamic data for the ruthenium oxide RuO2(s) are basic data for the calculation of gaseous release in the case of severe nuclear accident. The present study is a critical analysis of thermochemical data for RuO2(s) based on available published experimental data from calorimetry, vapor pressures in equilibrium with the diphasic RuRuO2 and Electromotive Force Measurements EMF. A full critical review and reinterpretation of data are presented in this work with a proposition of new and accurate data for RuO2(s): C°p (RuO2, s, 298.15â¯K)â¯=â¯56.42â¯Â±â¯0.08â¯J·K-1 ·mol-1, S°298.15 (RuO2,s)â¯=â¯46.15â¯Â±â¯0.05â¯J·K-1 ·mol-1, and Î; fH298 (RuO2,s)â¯=â¯â312.3â¯Â±â¯1.6â¯kJ.mol-1,
