Abstract
The patient on antithrombotic treatment (both anticoagulant as well as anti-platelet) is a common entity in the cardiac surgery context, so these recommendations are frequently applied in daily practice. However, each case must be subjected to an individualised assessment, taking into account the haemorrhagic, as well as the thrombotic risk, depending on the patient characteristics or the intervention to be performed, when making decisions.
