Abstract
Diving is one of the most aesthetic sports and requires the athlete to be in the best of shape and control of their body. Due to the complexity of the jumps and the high biomechanical forces that occur, injuries can happen, which are usually of minor extent. Specific sports medicine studies have shown, that this can lead to overload damage, especially during the athletes sensitive growth phase. After introductory aspects of the sport of diving, this article presents the current state of sports medicine knowledge on injuries and sports damage.
