Abstract
A considerable number of lateral malleolar fractures type Weber B are supination external rotation injuries. This fractures can be treated conservatively depending on the stability of the fracture and the integrity of the deltoid ligament. The stability can be assessed by the manual stress test or the gravity stress test. New studies show that weightbearing radiographs can reduce the operation rate and so the risk of postoperative complications. The conservative treatment of those fractures demonstrates excellent results.
