Abstract
A 3D microporous metal-organic framework Al(OH)(bpydc) (MOF-253) was synthesized and structurally characterized. The uncoordinated bipyridyl groups of MOF-253 were used as postsynthetic modification sites to encapsulate Eu3+ cations into the pores of the MOF to form the Eu3+ incorporated product Eu3+@MOF-253. Photoluminescence measurements indicate that Eu3+@MOF-253 can detect Cu2+ with high selectivity and sensitivity in aqueous solution, which represents a rare Cu2+ fluorescent probe based on lanthanide-loaded MOFs constructed by postsynthetic method (PSM).289
