Abstract
We present a combinatorial proof of two fundamental composition identities associated with Chebyshev polynomials. Namely, for all m,n⩾0, Tm(Tn(x))=Tmn(x) and Umâ1(Tn(x))Unâ1(x)=Umnâ1(x).
