Separation of polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/furans, non-ortho/mono/di/tri/tetra-ortho-polychlorinated biphenyls, and polybrominated diphenyl ethers groups of compounds prior to their determination with large volume injection gas chromatography-Quadrup

- We have investigated the possibility of combined carbon/alumina/silica application for separation of PCB, PBDE and dioxins.
- A full group separation of the compounds was obtained including ortho-, mono-ortho and non-ortho PCBs.
- The factors affecting the elution process from various beds were evaluated.
- The ion trap mass spectrometer operation condition was evaluated and optimized for determination of PCB/PBDE and dioxins.
- Described extraction/clean up method proves the usefulness for the food analysis with low resolution MS.
