Abstract

We measured the spectrum transmittance of the synthetic mesoporous TiO2/C materials using two visible-infrared spectral radiation characteristics measurement equipment. And the spectral absorption abilities of the samples were analyzed with the measured results. We obtained the direction transmittances of the catalyst materials prepared by different preparation conditions between 1.31 μm and 25 μm by FTIR spectrometer. The results showed that the transmittances of sample 1, 2 and 3 were lower than other samples, which was agreed with the catalytic effects. We obtained the hemisphere transmittance using the integrating sphere of the transmission-reflection experimental system. The results showed that the strong absorption areas of sample 1 and 3 were the longest. The cut-off wavelength of sample 1 reached 0.45 μm, and that of the sample 3 was higher than 0.5 μm. This verified the reason why the visible light catalytic effects of these two samples were the best from another Angle. From the above results it can be seen that the radiation absorption ability of the visible light catalytic materials can be measured effectively using the equipment in this paper. This can reflect the photocatalytic ability of the materials, and provide one new method to characterize them.
