Abstract

In this article, a novel inorganic mesoporous proton exchange membrane doped with Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 was synthesized through an in situ synthesis process. The structure, morphology and physicochemical properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, etc. The proton conductivity, stability and cell performance of the membrane were studied in detail. The results indicate that the inorganic mesoporous membrane doped with Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 shows good proton conductivities and excellent stability. The cell with the inorganic membrane doped with Cs2.5H0.5PW12O40 displays a high cell performance and excellent stability under high temperature and low humidity conditions. The inorganic mesoporous membrane shows a promising potential for using in high temperature proton exchange membrane fuel cells.
