Abstract
A numerical study of a PEMFC (proton exchange membrane fuel cell) bipolar plate has been made to study the influence of the relative entry positions of hydrogen and oxygen on the distribution of gases. Various 3D configurations, under simplified working conditions, have been considered. As the main result, it is shown that the flow of the gas in stoichiometric defect (usually hydrogen) forces the pattern of the other reactant gas (oxygen).
