Abstract
The electrochemical oxidation of a zinc anode in a solution of different pyrimidine-2-thiones in acetonitrile afforded the obtention of the corresponding thionato complexes. When bipy or phen was added to the cell, the heteroleptic complexes are obtained as well. Crystal structures were determined for three of the complexes and the thionato ligands show two different coordination behaviours: -N,S chelating ligand and η1-S monodentate ligand.
