Abstract

A series of alkynylrhenium(I) tricarbonyl diimine complexes with fused thiophene and cyanoacrylic acid moiety has been synthesized and characterized. A long-lived charge separated state of these complexes have been found. Preliminary studies to explore the utilization of these complexes as photosensitizers have also been made, which show photoresponse upon light illumination.
