Abstract
Three manganese(II) complexes of 2-benzoylpyridine-3-tetramethyleneiminyl thiosemicarbazone (HBpypTsc), 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-cyclohexyl thiosemicarbazone (HBpychTsc) and 2-benzoylpyridine N(4)-phenylthiosemicarbazone (HBpyphTsc) were synthesized and physico-chemically characterized by means of partial elemental analyses, molar conductance measurements, magnetic measurements, electronic, infrared and EPR spectral studies. The three complexes were given the formulae as [Mn(BpypTsc)2] (1), [Mn(BpychTsc)2] · H2O (2), [Mn(BpyphTsc)2] (3). The structure of the compound 1 has been solved by single crystal X-ray crystallography and was found to be distorted octahedral.
