Abstract

A new hybrid complex based on covalent interaction between 1,2-bis(p-aminophenylthio)ethane, (BAPTE), and a Lindqvist type polyoxometalate, Mo6O192−, was prepared. This new hybrid catalyst, CuII(BAPTE)Cl2-[n-Bu4N]4[Mo6O18]2, was characterized by 1H NMR, FT-IR, and UV−Vis spectroscopic methods and cyclic voltammetry. The catalytic activity of CuII(BAPTE)Cl2-[n-Bu4N]4[Mo6O18]2 hybrid material was investigated in the three component reaction of sodium azide, phenylacetylene and benzyl halides and the corresponding 1,2,3-triazoles were produced in good to excellent yields. The reusability of this catalyst was also investigated.
