Abstract

Seven new hybrid compounds based on polyoxometalates (POMs) and silver complexes, namely [Ag(2,2′-bpy)3]3{[H2.5BW12O40][Ag(2,2′-bpy)2(H2O)]}2 (1), [Ag(2,2′-bpy)3]3[Ag(2,2′-bpy)2][H2P2W18O62]·6H2O (2), [Ag(2,2′-bpy)3]2[Ag(2,2′-bpy)2][H3PW11AgO39(H2O)]·4.75H2O (3), [Ag(1,10-phen)2]2{[Mo8O26][Ag(1,10-phen)]2} (4), [Ag(2,2′-bpy)3]3[Ag(2,2′-bpy)2]2[H2.5BW12O40]2·(4,4′-bpy)3 (5), [Ag(1,10-phen)2]3[PMo12O40] (6) and [Ag(2,2′-bpy)3]2[H4P2W18O62]·(2,2′-bpy)2·2H2O (7) have been synthesized and characterized. The seven compounds can be classified into four groups based on transition metal complexes and/or dissociated organic moieties in them: (I) compounds based on POMs and two types of silver complexes, compounds 1–4 belong to this group; (II) compounds based on POMs, two types of silver complexes and organic moieties, compound 5 belongs to this group; (III) compounds based on POMs and silver complexes, compound 6 belongs to this group; (IV) compounds based on POMs, silver complexes and organic moieties, compound 7 belongs to this group.
