Five heterometallic coordination polymers based on pyridine 2,3-dicarboxylic acid (H2pydc), namely [MSr(pydc)2(H2O)2]n (M = Co (1), Ni (2)), [MSr2(pydc)3(H2O)4]n·2nH2O (M = Ni (3), Zn (4)) and [CuSr(pydc)2(H2O)3]n·2nH2O (5), have been synthesized via rationally choosing the appropriate metal salts and dexterously adjusting the pH values of the reaction system. X-ray crystallographic analyses reveal that the polymers display three varieties of 3-D framework structures. The magnetic properties of complexes 1 and 2 were investigated, and antiferromagnetic MII···MII interactions were found for both complexes.
