Abstract
Through natural evaporation of the reaction solutions of ZnX2 (XÂ =Â Clâ, CH3COOâ and SCNâ) and the ligand 2,6-bis(pyridine-4-carboxamido)pyridine (L), three new zinc(II) complexes with different structures of helical chain, discrete dimer and zigzag chain were obtained. Interestingly, the coordination numbers of ZnII as well as the molecular and supramolecular structures of the resulting coordination complexes are obviously tuned with the X anion used.
