Abstract
The complexation and dissociation kinetics of europium(III) complexes of H3do3a, H4dota and H4dota-like ligands having one methylphosphonic (H5do3ap) or one phosphinic acid pendant arm with a propionate side chain (H5do3apPrA) were studied by means of UV/VIS absorption spectroscopy and time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy (TRLIFS). The advantages and disadvantages of the TRLIFS methodology for the study of reaction mechanisms are discussed.
