Abstract
The reaction of Re(CO)5Cl with the chelating ligand N,Nâ²-bis(benzophenone)-1,2-diiminoethane (bz2en) afforded the neutral fac-[Re(CO)3(bz2en)Cl] (1). Subsequent reaction with AgOCOCF3 gave fac-[Re(CO)3(bz2en)OCOCF3] (2). Their pseudooctahedral fac structures have been established by FTIR, UV-Vis, 1H, 13C NMR and have been confirmed by X-ray diffraction analysis. The electrochemical behaviour of the investigated complexes has been studied by cyclic voltammetry.
