Improving the use of mercury bis(phenyltellurolate) as efficient start for the synthesis of ternary clusters and polymers

The synthesis, structural features and kinetic aspects of two Ag/Hg/Te compounds are discussed. The coordination polymer 1 builds layers which stack in the c plane. In the nanocluster 2 the occupation relationship for Ag and Hg is 40%/60%, respectively.
