Abstract
Various PtII and PtIV complexes with the betain-like ligand S2CC(PPh3)2 (1) were studied by X-ray analyses. 1 is composed of CS2 and the double ylide C(PPh3)2 and acts as a chelating ligand. The structures of [I2Pt{S2CC(PPh3)2}] (2), [Pt(Me)2FI{S2CC(PPh3)2}]·2CH2Cl2 (4) and [Pt{S2CC(PPh3)2}2][SiF5]2·2CH2Cl2 (5) were presented. Upon complex formation the C-S bond lengths of 1 are elongated accompanied by a slight shortening of the S2C-CP2 bonds.
