Abstract
Ni(dpedt)(pddt), where dpedt is diphenylethylenedithiolate and pddt is 6,7-dihydro-5H-1,4-dithiepin-2,3-dithiolate, a mixed-ligand unsymmetrical nickel 1,2-dithiolene complex, was prepared and fully characterized. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the complex crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group. Also, from the redox potentials the ELUMO and EHOMO values were calculated. These are â4.60 and â5.20 eV, respectively, which indicates that this complex is stable in air. The above properties suggest that the complex is a candidate material for optics and electronics. Also, the form Ni(dpedt)(pddt)·CS2 was prepared and characterized.
