Abstract
Ni(dpedt)(pddt), where dpedt is diphenylethylenedithiolate and pddt is 6,7-dihydro-5H-1,4-dithiepin-2,3-dithiolate, a mixed-ligand unsymmetrical nickel 1,2-dithiolene complex, was prepared and fully characterized. X-ray diffraction studies showed that the complex crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric orthorhombic space group. Also, from the redox potentials the ELUMO and EHOMO values were calculated. These are −4.60 and −5.20 eV, respectively, which indicates that this complex is stable in air. The above properties suggest that the complex is a candidate material for optics and electronics. Also, the form Ni(dpedt)(pddt)·CS2 was prepared and characterized.
