Abstract
Complexes [M(H2L)(PPh3)2]NO3 · 0.5H2O, (M = Cu, Ag) formed with N, Nâ²-ethane-1,2-bis(4-methoxyphenyl)carbothioamide (H2L) have MS2P2 coordination and the ligand is bonded through the sulfur atoms forming a nine-membered chelate ring. The molecular packing in the copper(I) complex is dominated by hydrogen bonding offered by the NO3- ion and the basal plane of the CuS2 chelate ring. The specific arrangement of two nitrate ions and two complex cations results in a rectangular shaped anionic channel.
