Abstract
Aminoacids N-5-nitroso-pyrimidine derivatives behave as bifunctional ligands whose pyrimidine residue reveals bipolar nature that favours adsorption at the arene centres of graphitic activated carbon and their behaviour as versatile ligands. Water reaction of N-2-(4-amino-1,6-dihydro-1-methyl-5-nitroso-6-oxopyrimidinyl)-glutamic acid with Cd2+ yields a molecular layered compound with {[Cd(HL)H2O] · 3H2O}n units containing three different coordination modes (1η, μâ2η and μâ3η).
