Abstract
The distortion imposed on two [Mn3(μ3-O)]7+ members of the well known and well studied class of triangular, oxide-centered [Mn3O(O2CR)6(py)3]+ complexes by methyl or phenyl 2-pyridyl ketone oxime (L'H) switches the exchange interactions to ferromagnetic and makes the [Mn3O(O2CR)3L3â²]+ products the first examples of triangular single-molecule magnets.
