Abstract
Meso-tetraarylporphyrins (H2T(X)PP) and SnCl4 leads to formation of intermediate sitting-atop (i-SAT) complexes, [SnCl4(H2T(X)PP)], that two nitrogen atoms of pyrrolic in the porphyrin core act as electron donors to a tin(IV) center and two pyrrolic protons remain on the macrocycle.
