Abstract
The reaction of TCNE and V(CO)6 and several solvents (S) form an immediate black precipitate of V(TCNE)x · yS (S = solvent; x â¼Â 2; y â¼Â 0.5), which have a magnetic ordering onset temperature in the range of 385-390 K. When S = PhCF3 in addition to the onset temperature being enhanced it exhibits greater thermal stability.
