Abstract

This new organic–inorganic salt, hereafter I, has been synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analyses, IR spectrum, PNMR, 13C NMR and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure consists of [PMo12O40]3− units linked together with C5H10NO21+ cations and hydrogen bonded waters. The l-prolines retain their chirality and the zig-zag arrangement of the Keggin units bears some resemblance to the DNA strands.
