Abstract
Two structurally different complexes [Cu2(2-NO2Bz)4(denia)1]n (1) [Cu(2-NO2Bz)2(denia)2(H2O)2] (2) were prepared from the same reaction (where 2-NO2Bz = 2-nitrobenzoate, denia = N,N-diethylnicotinamide). In the polymeric chain of (1) the denia molecules serve as bridges between the dimeric Cu2(2-NO2bz)4 units and in compound (2) the denia molecules serve as monodentate ligands with the pyridine nitrogen donor atom. The spectral and magnetic data of the complexes are analyzed in relation to their structures.
