Abstract

The complexes [ML2A2] or [ML2B] where M=Pd or Pt, L=5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thione ion, A=tertiary monophosphines and B=tertiary diphosphines have been used effectively to prepare bimetallic complexes of the type [A2M(μ-L)2M′Cl2] or [BM(μ-L)2M′Cl2], where M′=Co, Pd or SnCl2. The prepared complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, IR and UV–Vis spectral data. 31P–{1H} NMR data have been applied to characterize the produced linkage isomers.

The complexes [(ML2(A2)or(B)] react with various metal ions to give the heterobimetallic complexes, [(A2)or(B)M(μ-L)2M′Cl2], where M=Pd or Pt, L=5-phenyl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thione ion, A=monophosphine, B=diphosphine and M′=Co, Pd or SnCl2. These complexes were characterized physicochemically and spectroscopically.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slide
