Abstract
•This is the first phytochemical investigation of Paspalum atratum Swalen.•Six phenylpropanoids were isolated for the first time from the genus Paspalum.•The major compound isolated from the ethanol extract was rosmarinic acid (4.4%).•NMR data for cis- and trans-3-O-coumaroylquinic acids are given.
