Abstract
Two new terpyridine systems are reported: 4â²-(5methyl-thienyl)-4,2â²:6â²,4â³-terpyridine, C20H15N3S, (I) and 4â²-(4-quinolinyl)-4,2â²:6â²,4â³-terpyridine, C25H17Cl3N4, (II). Molecular structures, fluorescence and theoretical studies have been carried out.
