Abstract
Infrared spectra of the CH3I–H2O complex and (CH3I)n (n > 2) have been measured with matrix-isolation technique in Ar matrices. Assigned peak positions showed good agreement with the results of quantum chemical calculations. The structure and the characteristic of the intermolecular interaction for each species have been investigated theoretically, in comparison with the results of molecular complexes containing CHCl3 and CHF2Cl reported recently.
