Abstract
► Arthurite (CuFe23+(AsO4,PO4,SO4)2(O,OH)2·4H2O) has been studied using Raman spectroscopy. ► Arsenate, phosphate, sulphate, and hydroxyl anions have been characterised and assigned. ► Differences in band positions are due to different hydrogen bond strengths of water in arthurite. ► The strength of the hydrogen bonded water influenced the position of the Q4 counter anions. ► A comparison with the Raman spectrum of cobaltarthurite has also been reported.
