Abstract
⺠Arthurite (CuFe23+(AsO4,PO4,SO4)2(O,OH)2·4H2O) has been studied using Raman spectroscopy. ⺠Arsenate, phosphate, sulphate, and hydroxyl anions have been characterised and assigned. ⺠Differences in band positions are due to different hydrogen bond strengths of water in arthurite. ⺠The strength of the hydrogen bonded water influenced the position of the Q4 counter anions. ⺠A comparison with the Raman spectrum of cobaltarthurite has also been reported.
