Abstract
A new monomeric heteropolymolybdoarsenate (H2NCNH2NH2)8(H3O)2[Mn2(AsVMo9O33)2]·9H2O (1), has been synthesized in aqueous solution and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermal gravimetric analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. 1 resembles sandwich-type complexes and involves the coordination of two transition metals to two [AsVMo9O33]7− fragments, which derive from the B-β-Keggin structure. The magnetic properties of 1 have been studied by measuring its magnetic susceptibility in the temperature range 2.0–300.0 K, indicating the existence of antiferromagnetic interactions.
