Abstract
⺠We have performed the first structural study of pentanoyl chloride. ⺠Two conformers have been characterized using chirped pulse Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy. ⺠Comparison with other acyl chlorides shows a common 35Cl nuclear electric quadrupole coupling tensor.
