Abstract
A complete set of polarized IR specular reflection spectra of the diglycine hydrochloride crystal were measured in the region 4000–80 cm−1. The spectra of the imaginary part of the refractive indices computed by a Kramers–Kronig transformation are presented. The polarized Raman spectra in the region 4000–5 cm−1 were also measured. The polarized spectra are discussed with respect to the crystal structure (diffraction) data and literature data on the normal co-ordinate analysis of the zwitterion and cationic forms of the glycine molecule.
