Abstract
Three novel methoxido-bridged dinuclear Cu(II) compounds with the ligand 7-azaindole (abbreviated as Haza), i.e. [Cu2(Haza)4(CH3O)2(ClO4)2] (1), [Cu2(Haza)4(CH3O)2(CF3SO3)2] (2) and [Cu2(Haza)4(CH3O)2(NO3)2] (3) have been synthesized and fully characterized by spectroscopy, EPR and X-ray structure analysis. The Cu(II) ions show a tetragonally distorted octahedral geometry, with a CuN2O2 chromophore in the basal plane.
► New methoxido-bridged Cu(II) compound have been prepared. ► Diamagnetic dinuclear Cu(II) compounds. ► Azaindole binds with pyridine nitrogen to Cu, and anion-indole N–H stabilize the structures.
