Abstract
The presence of the phenyl substituent in N,N′-bis-(2-phenylglycinyl)pyromellitic diimide (L2) facilitate the aromatic CH⋯π interactions of the guests such as anthracene and perylene and play the crucial role in directing the hydrogen bonding motif involving the carboxylic acid groups of L2.
