Abstract
A new 3D supramolecular framework, Ni(en)23VIV11VV7O42Cl·8H2O (1) (en = ethylenediamine), has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, XPS, TG and single crystal X-ray analysis. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c, a = 12.735(3), b = 26.976(5), c = 21.171(4) Å, β = 92.64(3)°, V = 7265(2) Å3, and Z = 4. Complex 1 exhibits an interesting three-dimensional supramolecular framework assembled by sinusoidal-like arrangement of two-dimensional coordination polymer layers and crystal water molecules. The magnetic behavior of 1 has also been studied.
