Abstract
[Cu(tp)(dmpd)2] (1), [Cu(tp)(pen)2] (2), [Cu(tp)(dmen)2] (3), [Cu(tp)(deen)2]·4H2O (4), [Cu(tp)(mpen)2]·2H2O (5) and [Cu(tp)(amp)2]·3H2O (6) were synthesised and characterised by elemental analysis, spectroscopic measurements (UV-vis. and FT-IR spectra) and thermal analysis technique. These complexes have been screened for antimicrobial activities and DNA cleavage. Antimicrobial activity of compounds 1-6 were evaluated by the agar diffusion method, MIC (tube dilution) and Minimal Microcidal Concentration (MMC). The DNA cleavage activities of the complexes were evaluated by agarose gel electrophoresis. Particularly, 6 complex good show antimicrobial activity and nuclease activity.
