Abstract
Na4Li4(sac)8·14H2O was prepared by co-crystallisation of equimolar amounts of LiCl and Na-saccharinate from water. The asymmetric unit contains 4 Na+ ions, 4 Li+ ions, 8 sac anions and 14 water molecules. The present structure bears some structural similarities to the already reported structure of the “dihydrate” Na16(sac)16·30H2O, and to Li6(sac)6·11H2O, and helps in understanding these structures better.
