Abstract
FT-Raman spectra of 4-ethyl-4′-cyanobiphenyl (2CB) measured as a function of temperature (283–363 K) are reported and discussed in relation to the phase transitions observed by DSC measurement at 293.3 and 348.3 K. The high temperature phase at 348.3 K occurs between the solid crystal and isotropic liquid phase. The phase transition at 293.3 K with a low enthalpy of activation occurs between two crystals phases.
