•Three polymeric manganese(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized.•The compounds show weak antiferromagnetic interactions.•Three topological nets of manganese polymers have been synthesized.
Three polymeric manganese(II) complexes [Mn(H2O)2(NTA)]∞21, [Mn(H2O)2(TNA)]∞22 and [Mn(H2O)3(FNA)]∞13 (HNTA = 2-nitroterephthalic acid; HTNA = 3-nitrophthalic acid; HFNA = 4-nitrophthalic acid), were synthesized and characterized. Compounds 1, 2 and 3 are assembled into 3D supramolecular network via O–H⋯O hydrogen bonds interactions. The Variable-temperature (2–300 K) magnetic susceptibility measurements of 1–3 show overall antiferromagnetic interactions between the high-spin Mn(II) (S = 5/2) ions. Results about i.r. spectra, thermal and elemental analyses are presented.
