Abstract
Two coordination polymers {[Co2.5(btrb)5(SCN)5]·5CH3CN}n (1) and [Cu(btrb)(μ2-SCN)2]n (2), with the flexible 1,3-bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butane (btrb) ligand, have been synthesized in the presence of thiocyanate. 1 is composed of 2D layers, which are stacked into 3D architecture through C-Hâ¯S interactions. While 2 represents a rare example of 3D network with two nonequivalent points {4.62}{4.66.83}, in which NCS-bridged 2D Cu(II) layers are interlinked by organic ligands. Elemental analysis and thermal stability have been characterized for both 1 and 2. EPR spectrum has been discussed for complex 2.
