Abstract
Reactions of 4-pyridin-2-yl-pyrimidine-2-sulfonate (NaL) with a few transition metal salts, which resulted in the formation of mononuclear complexes 1–3 ([M(L)2]·H2O, M = Co2+, Ni2+, Zn2+), assembled into 3D hydrogen-bonded supramolecules. The ligand offers N,N,O-chelation and the geometry around each metal atom is distortedly octahedral. The sulfonato oxygen atoms of the ligand are engaged in intermolecular hydrogen-bonding, leading to the formation of hydrogen-bonded supramolecules.
