Abstract
Two new mixed ligand complexes [Ni(en)2(mot)2] (1) and [Cu(en)2(mot)2] (2) derived from potassium Nâ²-(4-methoxy-benzoyl) dithiocarbazate [K+(H2L)â] containing en as the coligand have been synthesized. [K+(H2L)â] undergoes cyclization in the presence of ethylenediamine and is converted to 5-(4-methoxy-phenyl [1,3,4]-oxadiazole-2-thione (mot)â. [Ni(en)2(mot)2] and [Cu(en)2(mot)2] have been characterized by various physicochemical techniques and single crystal X-ray. In [Ni(en)2(mot)2] and [Cu(en)2(mot)2] the metal ion has MN6 core with six coordinate octahedral arrangement from four N atoms of two en and two N atoms from two mot anions.
