Abstract
The structures of 5-benzylidene-imidazol-4-one glycinate hydrochlorides are dominated by charge-assisted interactions. The main motifs in all structures are analogous and involve two oppositely oriented protonated imidazolones with chlorine anion between. Thus, three N–H…Cl hydrogen bonds are responsible for the formation of one-dimensional ribbons. In the structure with p-Cl substituent in benzylidene part of the molecules, chains are interconnected by C–H…Cl weak hydrogen bonds to form two-dimensional network.
