Abstract
Two novel compounds constructed by Anderson-type polyoxoanions and copper complexes with mixed ligands, (H3O+)[Cu(C6NO2H4)(phen)(H2O)]2[Al(OH)6Mo6O18]·5H2O (1) and (H3O+)[Cu (C6NO2H4)(phen)(H2O)]2[Cr(OH)6Mo6O18]·5H2O (2) have been isolated by conventional solution method, and characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, thermal stability analyses, X-ray powder diffraction and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds 1 and 2 are isomorphic and reveal an example of three-dimensional supramolecular organic-inorganic hybrids based on copper complexes with mixed 1,10-phenanthroline and pyridine-4-carboxylic acid ligands supported on Anderson-type polyoxoanions. Furthermore, both of the compounds exhibit photoluminescent properties at ambient temperature, and to elucidate the electronic properties of the metal ions (Cu2+ or Cu2+/Cr3+), EPR studies have been performed, and the results are in good agreement with the structural feature of these compounds.
